Nicetown Court II is a mixed-use development project that includes the new construction of fifty total units for low-income general family occupancy.
Of the 50 total units:
- 28 will be 2-bedrooms
- 18 will be 3-bedrooms
- 4 will be 4-bedrooms
The overall goal of the Nicetown Court II development is to provide modern, attractive, and safe housing for low-income individuals while maintaining and respecting the commercial character of Germantown and Windrim Avenues.
The attractive first floor retail space is anticipated to be utilized by a cafe, boutique store, or comparable business. In addition to serving the residents of Nicetown Court II, the retail space will entice the many commuters that utilize the Wayne Junction Station daily.
The need for high-quality, affordable housing for low-income families throughout the Philadelphia area is well documented. There has been limited new construction for this population, especially in the lower Germantown, Nicetown, and Tioga neighborhoods. The existing residents of these communities will benefit greatly form the Nicetown Court II development, with its tremendous access to transit that provides fast, direct service to all the employment, service, and recreation opportunities of greater Philadelphia.
