Join 900AM-WURD for a performance-based dialogue between some of the cultural leaders and icons in Philadelphia!

900 AM WURD presents:

RISE UP SINGING: The State of Black Art in Philadelphia

The following individuals have been invited to perform and discuss their journeys:

  • Lorene Cary, Art Sanctuary
  • Greg Corbin, Philadelphia Youth Poetry Movement
  • Sandra Haughton, Freedom Theatre
  • Jeri Lynn Johnson, Black Pearl Chamber Orchestra
  • Louis Massiah, Scribe Video Center
  • Warren Orrie, West Oak Lane Jazz Festival
  • Mercer Redcross, October Gallery


The program will culminate with a healing drum circle led by Music Over Matter
